Green Day headed to Tampa's MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on September 5

Catfish and the Bottlemen open the show.

UPDATE: We've added video from Green Day's 1989 show at the Paint Factory in Tampa to the bottom of the post. Holy nostalgia.

There's probably not a lot of crossover between hardcore fans of Green Day and U2, but if you're the rare one devoted to both, then your wallet might be crying a bit this morning. U2 just announced a stop at Tampa's Raymond James stadium, and now Billy Joe Armstrong & co. have revealed that they'll play a show at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Sept. 5. The stop is happening in support of Green Day's 2016 LP, Revolution Radio, but as our friends at the Tampa Bay Times point out, the show will likely featuring a smattering of hits from their entire career.

There's no telling whether or not they'll talk about the days they used to play Tampa's tiny Brass Mug nightclub.

Tickets to see the Grammy-winning rock hall inductees go on sale Friday, January 13 at 10 a.m. EST and will run fans $22-$81.50. A special presale for "Idiot Nation" members happens on Tuesday, January 10.

UK rockers Catfish and the Bottlemen will open the show. Watch a video of Green Day playing Revolution Radio on Jimmy Kimmel Live below.
