Roux, the strip mall-hidden restaurant that’s been dishing out creative cajun and creole dishes since 2014, has closed for good.
Although the 4,300-square-foot restaurant still looks open and there has yet to be an official announcement of closure on Roux’s social media, Roux owners Suzanne Perry and Roger Perry confirmed with TBBJ on Thursday that New Year’s Eve was the creole restaurant’s last day in operation.
The married couple and co-restaurateurs also own and operate three Datz locations (Tampa, St. Petersburg and Tampa Convention Center), the bakery concept Dough, as well as Dr. BBQ in downtown St. Petersburg. Roux joins the list of fellow concepts that missed out on serving up 2020 eats including Baytenders, Nueva Cantina Tampa and Pair O' Dice Brewing.
Tampa is now in search of another New Orleans comfort food eatery that can provide an all-you-can-eat crawfish boil.
