  • Alexander and the Grapes drew fans to the front Friday night at New World.

I'll admit that I've slowed down on my local rock show attendance since working the A&E beat, but I felt the magic again at New World Brewery Friday night. The all-local all-Pinellas-originatin' lineup of Alexander and the Grapes, Friends of Giants and Easybreezy delivered a satisfying night of local music — even if a little too restrained at times.

And speaking of the easy and breezy — a light wind and post-rain chill conspired in creating an atypical night all 'round. I wish all outdoor shows in the summer felt like this one.

New Granada had originally scheduled indie pop band Head to headline, but the Atlanta band canceled due to a major illness. Best wishes and prayers and hope they can reschedule soon.
