Natalie Campisi may have relocated to Los Angeles, but the sights, sounds and flavors of her native Tampa will be forever with her.
During the writer-videographer's last visit in early July, she took a break from family QT to shoot Datz, South Tampa's beloved gastropub and resident reinventer of comfort foods, for the nationally syndicated webcast Dood Food.
The subject of the Dood Food video brings us to the Mount Everest of stoner binges and other cravings: The Cheesy Todd, a burger nestled between a breaded and fried mac 'n' cheese bun, "perfect for when you want to hit that 10,000 calorie mark." In the vid, Datz chef Andy King talks about his beefy-carby sensation and provides a demo, showing how we could (try to) make it at home.
Campisi has kept busy since moving 16 months ago.
"Work-wise I'm doing a couple different things," she writes in an email to CL.
"I still write commercial scripts for As Seen on TV products, and I'm editing celeb blogs (Waka Flocka, Stan Lee, Lindsay Lohan and the like)," she adds. "I also write for a Second City-based sketch group called TMI (unpaid), and I'm working on producing more original content (like Dood Food and Your Rad Life)."
