Dunedin Life & Light Lantern Parade & Festival

Casa Tina and the Dunedin Harvest Food and Garden Co-op present this inaugural Earth Day party that also poses as a community fundraiser for Planting Seeds Workshops (a free sustainable living workshop series offered to the general public) and the 1% Food Project (a community-organized food-growing initiative). In addition to paper lantern-making workshops, and gardening and sustainability demos, the event features live music throughout the weekend by artists ranging from dulcet-toned alt folk singer-songwriter Jayne Kelli, to funk and jam rock outfit Funky Seeds, to Latin lounge-jazz ensemble La Lucha, which is joined by full-throated singer Jun Bustamente for a set. All of the weekend's events culminate with a Sunday evening lantern parade through downtown Dunedin.
