Monday night, the beloved former downtown Tampa restaurant, Fly Bar & Restaurant, teased us with a cryptic Instagram post about its new location.
Today, Leslie Shirah Culbreath, co-owner of Hotel Bar and Fly Bar & Restaurant, was ready to dish more details about the restaurant's new location, menu and featured cocktails.
The space is near Falk Theatre, at 442 West Kennedy Blvd.
Sadly, there will not be a rooftop bar, but Leslie and her husband, Mark, are working with the city to allow patio seating.
The pair are shooting to debut in November, if permitting and build out go smoothly.
As far as the menu goes, Executive Chef, Justin Dunfee is still running the kitchen and is revamping the entire menu — while leaving some Fly Bar favorites.
The cocktail menu will be spankin’ new too, thanks to Hotel Bar’s Beverage Director, Alex Watson.
“Being that we were at the forefront of the craft cocktail movement in Tampa, we will still be producing top-notch drinks,” Leslie reassures.
Speaking of favorites, the Fly Margarita will be the only staple remaining on the new drink menu.
Shaking things up, this location will be open for lunch and dinner service seven days a week.
Same offerings throughout the day, to be served in their 3,000-square-foot digs.
Since the building was constructed in the 1920s, Fly Bar will pay tribute to the time period, but will remain true to its Fly roots.
That means modern art deco design with contributions from local artists.
More details to come as the opening approaches.
