The news & media website The Daily Beast is listing their 55 smartest cities in the country.
And the Tampa/St. Pete region comes in at 33rd. The website says it graded what makes a city smart by by giving points for education, and half for intellectual environment.
The website says:
Tampa was in the middle 20 percent for nonfiction book sales, voter participation, and universities per capita. It scored even lower for bachelors and graduate degrees per capita.
Coming in #1 is the Raleigh-Durham region in North Carolina, followed at #2 by San Francisco.
