Well, it had to happen. Former Weekly Planet writer Max Linsky's immortal "The Free Way" story has spawned a website, blog and imitator.
University of Florida telecomm major Miles Doran has started living the free way just as Linsky wrote about. No bumming off friends, no spending money. Five days with a car and a tank of gas. Doran's website, Living Life the Free Way, is chronicling his attempt to mooch his way through the world for five days. He started on Monday in the Oldsmar/East Lake area.
Especially wonderful/troubling is Miles' picture on the website, an empty-pockets-turned-out homage to the original cover of Linsky's seersucker shorts and bird legs.
