Seeing as we live in the Sunshine State, it'd be economical to take advantage of this free power resource. If you'd like to know more about buying and installing a solar power system in your home, then you're in luck because Sweetwater Organic Community Farm is hosting a Solar Power Workshop this Sunday, January 17, from 10:30 am until 12 pm.
The seminar will cover how solar electric systems work, what they cost (and what you can expect from them), as well as design considerations, federal and state incentives, calculating the return on investment, the different types of panels and how to choose what will work best for your application, permitting, and how to qualify for rebates. It will be lead by John Gambill, an "Integrator" offering consulting, education, fabrication, installation, and sales of renewable energy equipment.
