St. Pete Beach's Sloppy Pelican will reopen in a new space along Fourth Street in St. Petersburg.

Swapping its two-story waterfront shack for onshore digs at 8123 Fourth St. N., the former Tick Tock eatery site, Sloppy Pelican will hold a soft opening on Aug. 1, as reported by The Tampa Bay Business Journal today.

Jimmy Jordan, the restaurant's co-owner, told the business journal that he closed the Fourth Street deal in three days about a month ago. He said he wanted to provide beach-bar fun to landlubbers.

Jordan also told the business journal that he's in the process of bringing a Sloppy Pelican to Clearwater and another to Palm Harbor by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Shark Tales Waterfront Restaurant launched in Sloppy Pelican's old nest at 677 75th Ave. last week, offering beachgoers Hawaiian-infused island cuisine.

The restaurant is set to host an official grand opening event on Friday, Aug. 8.
