The 'Local First' movement in Tampa Bay, admirably promoted at the grassroots for years by such organizations as the Tampa Independent Business Alliance (TIBA), is receiving another boost and a new voice from the business community this month with the public launch of the Sustainable Independent Business Alliance (SIBA).
SIBA , a non-profit organization, is founded by seven locally owned businesses in Pinellas County who are committed to promoting a sustainable, local living economy in the region. These firms all have determined that sustainability is not only important for the success of their businesses but also for the future health and happiness of our communities. The founding members of SIBA range from Tampa Bay’s largest independent organic and natural grocer to the area’s leading nursery using Florida native landscaping.
