I had things to accomplish last weekend. Things that would've taken me far away from the dent in my bed I'd made while curled up in the same spot for hours, engrossing myself in Roxana Shirazi's sexy new memoir, The Last Living Slut: Born in Iran, Bred Backstage, about her forays into rock 'n roll groupie-dom. Needless to say, I accomplished nil.
I was slated to talk to Roxana last Thursday and I put a lot of thought into what I wanted to talk about with this trilingual intellectual who spares no modesty toward her affection for things like "water sports" and double penetration. A woman who was encouraged by Buckcherry to call her memoirs, Are you Fucking Man Enough? The Legend of Roxana.
Eventually, I came up with more material than just, "What does your mother think?!" (Though I did ask that.) Roxana discusses the backlash from the religious community, her fear of being beheaded if she ever returns to Iran, and what didn't make it into the book.
Check out the book review and download the interview after the break. The Last Living Slut: Born in Iran, Bred Backstage hit bookstores this month. Get yourself a copy. And cancel your weekend plans.
