Yep. Despite Cigar City Brewing founder Joey Redner's declaration last year that Hunahpu's Day — the Tampa brewery's annual Hunahpu's Imperial Stout bottle release and festival, held in conjunction with Tampa Bay Beer Week — would be no more, the tradition will return Saturday, March 14.
To ensure more chaos doesn't manifest, the brewery is set to institute a stricter policy on tickets and will modify the bottle release portion of this year's event, according to All About Beer magazine.
The magazine reported that 2,000 $200 tickets will be offered, and that Cigar City's 1,500-member El Catador Club will get priority when sales kick off. Meaning, 500 tickets are reserved for the public, but more may become available if club members pass them up.
Eventgoers must bring an ID to match the name on their ticket, the magazine continued. They'll receive four bottles of the highly coveted imperial stout with their VIP-style admission, as well as eats and a tasting glass to sample top-flight brews from across the state and country.
The event's tap list, unveiled Monday, boasts more than 60 breweries and more than 200 beers, and it's still growing.
Cigar City's website advises drinkers to check back for more information on when Hunahpu's Day ticket sales will begin.
