The new chicken joint, Hoots, is set to open shop at 201 1st Ave. N. in St. Petersburg.
After over three decades of business, the founders of Hooters decided to launch Hoots; according to Hoots' website, "It's a little bit Hooters, a little bit its own thing." That means no servers in pantyhose (that's right, we're talking khaki pants and orange shirts), but all of the classic Hooters eats. By the way, men can also apply to be servers.
The first of three Hoots restaurants launched in Cicero, Illinois — and another opening soon in Chicago.
What we can expect is fast-casual service and a menu loaded with all things poultry including wings (bone-in and boneless), chicken tenders, buffalo and grilled chicken sandwiches, as well as buffalo shrimp and snow crab legs. It seems like the Hoots menu plucked all of the bangers off of the OG.
Keeping up with family tradition, Hoots offers 10 signature sauces and rubs like lemon pepper, habanero BBQ, and the classic Daytona Beach. Oh, and the sides are hitters too, with fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, loaded tots and waffle fries. Those combing for eats in downtown St. Pete or in need of some carbs after binge drinking during a show at Jannus Live will have ample bar bite options. Not to mention Hoots is also mixing up homemade sangria, margaritas and serving up beer on draft and in bottles.
According to Hoots' website, this location is coming soon. More details to come as construction continues and an official opening date is announced.
