This weekend marks Super Bowl Sunday, an unofficial national holiday that celebrates America’s dual pastimes of overeating and over-drinking. Oh, and football. Many people will either host or attend house parties to watch the New York Giants do gridiron battle with the New England Patriots, but If you prefer to catch every touchdown and turnover in a more sports-oriented environment, check out one of these restaurants that are featuring Super Bowl specials.

Say ciao to the Italian tailgate menu, which will feature specialty pizza (cooked in the trademark 800-degree coal-burning oven), hand-rolled meatballs, roasted wings, and spare ribs with spicy peppers. Cost is $13 per person, with 10-person minimum per party. An a la carte menu will be available for smaller groups.

Head to downtown St. Petersburg’s Avenue and join the excitement with an all-you-can-eat-and-drink special for $30. Wings and fries are the featured bites, which will be washed down by Bud Light, Shock Top and Yuengling drafts. Bar Louie’s plasma TVs will make for ideal viewing of the game while you enjoy half-price select appetizers and $3 20-ounce domestics in the casual-cool vibe of this restaurant and bar (which won the Concept of Tomorrow award from Restaurant Hospitality Magazine). If you’re a whiskey and dessert fan (and who isn’t on Super Sunday?), splurge on the Tennessee whiskey cake, which is served only to patrons over the age of 21.

Participate in the costume and football-tossing contests, “Bogie down” to live music from Surfin Raccoons, and get lucky with prize giveaways. Then stick around and watch the game on over a dozen indoor flat-screens, or on the giant big-screen TV on the patio. Free. 1 p.m.
BOSTON’S 9316 Anderson Road, Tampa, 813-901-9590, bostons.com. With a name like Boston’s, you can be sure that Patriots fans will feel right at home during the Super Bowl. In addition to seeing Belichick and the boys exact revenge on the hated Giants, New England fans will also enjoy all the Red Sox/Bruins/Patties team memorabilia on the walls — if they can tear their eyes off the television for a moment. An all-you-can-eat-and-drink special will be available for $37, and will include select menu items, domestic beers, margaritas and well cocktails. (Non-drinkers can skip the booze and just get the all-you-can-eat half of the special for $19.99.) The $50 ticket gets you prime cuts of beef and seafood (including prime rib and seared tuna), and house wines, domestic drafts and well cocktails. Or upgrade to the $75 ticket and enjoy additional items, such as shrimp cocktail, roast pork, fancy cocktails, domestic bottles and more. If you’re in the northern reaches of Pinellas County, head to Lagerheadz Super Bowl party and catch the game on the 40-foot boat bar. Be a “macho man” and order the $7.99 Macho Nachos special, or sample other food specials, including 50-cent oysters and $6.99 wings. Drink specials include $8 buckets of Budweiser products, $6.99 pitchers and $1 drafts. There will also be hat and T-shirt giveaways and a raffle. Don’t forget to feed the gators on your way out.

Tampa Bay may not in the big game this year, but you can pay tribute to the first Buccaneer inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame by taking in the game at Lee Roy Selmon’s. This popular sports-themed restaurant will offer a “Super Spread” menu featuring unlimited drinks and food, including buffalo wings, sliders and St. Louis ribs smothered in Mama Selmon’s homemade barbeque sauce. $63, plus tax and gratuity. 5:30 p.m. until the NFL crowns a champion.

Walter’s Press Box is sure to be ADHD heaven during the Super Bowl, as patrons can enjoy the game on 23 televisions, including five big screens. Specials include $12.99 for 20 wings, fries and a beer; Miller Lite and Coors Light available for $2 pints and $7 pitchers; and well shots for the incredible low price of $2 each. Vodka fans will also dig the $5 special on all 3 Olive brand drinks (all vodka flavors included). There will also be a cooler giveaway, which is befitting of a party with this many great drink specials.
