West Tampa was supposed to debut its first brewery this month, but due to some delay in construction, it looks like the doors of Bay Cannon Beer Co. will open in mid-July.

BCB will be the first brewery in Historic West Tampa since DeSoto Brewing shut down in 1936.

Owners Matthew Juaire and Joe Simmons will be brewing up their signature selection of craft beers, including a Hazy Brut IPA and a Brut Belgian, in the renovated former theater located at 2106 W. Main St.

The brewery has been posting updates on social media, including its latest colorful floral mural by Wax and Hive creative studio and a sleek tap tower installed by Levitate Fabrications.

Bay Cannon will host bar, table and couch seating, as well as outdoor patio seating.

The kitchen on-site will run as a separate entity, although BCB isn't quite sure who will be taking on the bar bites just yet.

The official opening date is soon to come with renovations coming to an end.
