Strawberries on parade

2007 Florida Strawberry Festival

Plant City, the "Winter Strawberry Capital of the World," marks the beginning of its peak harvest season with the annual Florida Strawberry Festival, a festive, 11-day celebration of the luscious red fruit.

Of course, there's plenty to keep you occupied above and beyond the bevy of delicious strawberry treats. Diversions include an abundance of agriculture, horticulture and livestock shows, parades, arts and crafts, social events, competitive contests and a respectable carnival midway. But the festival's biggest draw for the past several years has been its packed schedule of live music. This year's featured performers include George Jones, Clint Black, Martina McBride, Lee Greenwood, LeAnn Rimes, Randy Travis, Little Richard, Kenny Rogers, Hootie & the Blowfish and Josh Turner.
