After their curly parsley and cilantro tested positive for salmonella, J&D Produce out of Texas is recalling those items as well as 18 additional vegetables and herbs that they distribute to 16 U.S. states and to parts of Canada.
The products in question, ranging from arugula to turnips, were packed only on November 30th and December 6th, 2010, and there have not yet been any reported illnesses.
"It's imperative to protect public health, even if that means being overzealous in expanding the scope of the products we're calling back," said James Bassetti, president of J&D Produce Inc. "We will work closely with regulators, health officials and our customers in bringing back the products."
