Sh*t happened 12/7/15: Bernie ramps up, Obama...stands?!!

Well, the weekend ate regular Shit Happened columnist Scott Harrell. Swallowed him whole.

While he tries to make his way out — probably by tomorrow or so — let's take a look at that all-consuming weekend's noteworthy developments.

FRIDAY, DEC. 4:
We all woke up to the news that former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland had passed away in Minnesota while on tour. R.I.P., man.

Congresswoman Kathy Castor (D—Tampa) applauded her colleagues in Congress for doing their jobs, i.e. voting to fund billions in transportation projects, including, locally, a five-year plan. It was gracious of her not to mention how they also, however impotently, voted to repeal Obamacare for the 9,004th time and tried to defund Planned Parenthood. Such decorum.

SATURDAY, DEC. 5:
Staffers for Democratic Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign were in Tampa to rally supporters. The candidate himself was missing, either because most candidates don't see the point of coming here ahead of the March primary, or his bike broke down on the way. Bern felt.

SUNDAY, DEC. 6:
President Obama made the unusual move of standing during his Oval Office address rather than sitting. Obama was discussing how the U.S. won't back down from terrorism, etc. But OMG he stood instead of sat. Don't tell Congress, they're already fake-outraged at too many things, bless their dear hearts.
