Considering how far Rick Santorum has come in the presidential sweepstakes after several other GOP candidates crashed and burned, it's interesting to contemplate how former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton might have fared on the campaign trail.
About a year or so ago, the conservative diplomat/attorney put out feelers that he was considering a run for president in 2012. Although he'd never run for public office previously, that obviously wouldn't have been a dealbreaker with the GOP voters this season. Or have you already forgotten Herman Cain?
Bolton will no doubt be talking about politics, as well as Iran, Israel, Syria and other international hotspots when he comes to speak at the Sarasota County Republican Party's Lincoln Day dinner late next month.
