The ArtsXchange in St. Pete is gearing up to host "An Evening with Andra Douglas," which showcases a Tampa Bay area artist that made a name for herself in realms that don't exactly line up.
Douglas is an award-winning artist, author — but she's also owner of the women's professional football team, the New York Sharks.
The evening, set for November 8 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., includes a book talk about Black & Blue, which describes Douglas' upbringing in Zephyrhills which she describes as a rural and conservative town, and her journey to become who she is today. According to a release by ArtsXchange, "Douglas shares the wisdom that comes from becoming who you were meant to be and letting your strengths and creativity shine through."
The talk is followed by a gallery exhibit of her work along with a book signing. Tickets for "An Evening with Andra Douglas" are $30 per person and include a copy of her book Black & Blue. ArtsXchange is located at 515 22nd. St. S., with an ample parking lot on-site. Get more information via warehouseartsdistrictstpete.org.
