The holiday season is upon us, and now is the time to decide whether you’re going to be a total Scrooge or skim a little off your drinking budget to help out a local charity. Nature’s Food Patch Market & Café is joining forces with the Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP) in Clearwater and Dunedin Cares Food Pantry to donate food to families in need.

HEP is one of the largest homeless shelters in the Tampa Bay area, while Dunedin Cares is meant to “address food-insecure pockets of Dunedin” with their food pantry.

Nature’s Food Patch customers will have the opportunity to purchase a bag of healthy food for $10 at the register while checking out, to be donated to the corresponding location (Clearwater location aids HEP/ Dunedin location aids Dunedin Cares). Last year, thanks to generous customers, Nature’s Food Patch’s initiative helped donate over $12,000 worth of food.

Don’t have a penny to spare? You can get in on Nature’s Food Patch’s “Bring Your Own Bag” program, where NFP donates 5 cents to a different charity each month for every reusable bag used by customers. Throughout November and December, proceeds will benefit both HEP and Dunedin Cares. Good for the environment and local charities.

Natures Food Patch in Clearwater is located at 1225 Cleveland St., and the Dunedin location is stationed at 966 Douglas Ave. #106.
