Good morning, and welcome to the last weekend of the 2011 Tampa election season in full - though of course it will continue for three more weeks with the runoff election scheduled for March 22.

Although the various forums and debates are virtually history now, the candidates for mayor are scheduled to appear one more time on AM radio station WTMP 1150 AM tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m., and yours truly has been asked to be a guest panelist to ask a few more (original) questions to the candidates. What else can be asked, you ask? Well, tune in tomorrow to find out.
Meanwhile, it was deja vu throughout Florida, as the for the second time in 9 days, Floridians of a certain persuasion had another opportunity to curse out Governor Rick Scott, as he once again rejected the idea of the state -or a local government agency- from collecting the $2.4 billion for a high speed rail line to run from Tampa to Orlando.
Meanwhile, in Tampa, there are some interesting mailers being sent out to registered voters just days before decision 2011 takes place. Mary Mulhern is the recipient of one such mailer, while Yolie Capin is sending out her own.
The DLC broke up earlier this month. Come on, I know you know who they were. The Democratic Leadership Council is history, but that doesn't mean centrism isn't a big part of the playbook for national Democrats to be successful.
Homelessness was discussed at the Tampa City Council meeting yesterday.
