The annual 'Fresh Squeezed' art exhibit at the Morean Art Center brings fresh new Florida talent to St. Petersburg.
For the third time in as many years, the Morean Arts Center will bring a fresh crop of Florida artists to the Tampa Bay area with its annual Fresh Squeezed art exhibit. Fresh Squeezed 3: Emerging Artists in Florida will showcase the work of artists from across Florida.

Amanda Cooper, the Morean Art Center's Curator of Exhibitions, chose seven artists from more than 200 applicants. Only one hails from the Tampa Bay area: photographer Lance Rothstein lives in Clearwater.

Other artists include Alexa Velez, who works in photography and film in Jacksonville; J. Leigh Garcia, a Pensacola printmaking artist; Chad Steve, who lives in Tequesta and works in ceramics; Tenee' Hart, a mixed-media sculpture artist from Tallahassee; and Ericka Sobrack, a painter from Orlando.

The opening reception will take place during May's Second Saturday ArtWalk (May 11, 5 p.m.) at the Morean Arts Center (719 Central Ave., St. Petersburg), and, like all exhibits at the Morean Arts Center, is free.
