Early voting revisited

OK, so I took some grief at lunch for my post about trends in Tampa's early voting (jeez, EG I'm just trying to fill some digital space).

As one Blurbex commenter has already noted as well, comparing two days of runoff early voting to two days of primary early voting (as a St. Pete Times story did) is apples to oranges. There are only six days of EV in the runoff; there were 12 in the primary election.

So, with only two days of EV left, where do we stand and what does it say about turnout? As of the end of Thursday, 2,465 people cast early ballots. In the primary, 4,572 people voted early. It is doubtful that the runoff EV will eclipse the primary EV at this rate. And that should surprise exactly no one.
