Good morning! Although I didn't write this yesterday (I didn't write anything about the World Series) a colleague of mine at CL can vouch that I did say yesterday afternoon that Texas Rangers pitching ace Cliff Lee did not walk on water, and no way was I conceding Game One of the 2010 Series to him because of his post-season mastery on the mound the past two years. In fact, I told said colleague (a big New York Yankee fan) the same thing last week, if his Yankees had to face Lee in Game 7 of the ALCS. It's just the law of averages. It's not like Cliff Lee didn't lose games this year — he did. His record was actually 12-9 in the regular season. But according to scribes and announcers everywhere, it was really 21-0. Having said that, the series is far from over, and if the Rangers beat Matt (Yes we) Cain tonight in SF (weather permitting), advantage goes back to the boys from Arlington.
Okay, as Election Day nears, things are getting ridiculously busy. Headlining the news this morning of course was the decision by the 1st DCA in Tallahassee (the same judges soon to be housed in the "Taj Mahal") to reverse a lower court's ruling, and make Jim Norman eligible to be elected to the state Senate next week.

A new poll out today shows that Democrats are deserting Kendrick Meek in the waning days of the U.S. Senate race and moving toward supporting Charlie Crist against Marco Rubio. But can the governor close the gap in less than a week?
We were out at Hillsborough High School last night to see former Congressman (and rumored mayoral candidate) Jim Davis use all his political skills in trying to persuade folks to support the transit tax on the ballot in Hillsborough next week.
And we almost forgot: we attended a news conference with Florida Democratic Party chair Karen Thurman yesterday, where she unveiled a new ad regarding a dog that she hopes will make some voters think twice before supporting Republican AG candidate Pam Bondi.
