Join hands with other near- and offshore drilling ban supporters this Saturday, June 25, for the third 'Hands Across the Sand/Land' event.
What first began on Florida beaches on February 13, 2010, has since turned into a worldwide event, bringing together people from all walks of life standing together against oil drilling and supporting clean and renewable energy. In response to the Deepwater Horizon spill last year, another 'Hands' event was organized on June 26, 2010. Over 1,000 events took place in all 50 U.S. states and in 42 countries.
This year's event will be taking place in almost every state in the U.S. as well as in numerous countries around the globe. At exactly 12 p.m. in every time zone, participants will gather at 'Hands' event locations to further oppose expanded offshore drilling, to demand that our world leaders end dependence on oil and coal, and to call for clean energy solutions for a sustainable planet.
