How to keep our oceans free of plastic and chemicals

Are you aware that the number one material polluting the world’s oceans is plastic? Bags, disposable cutlery, cups and plates, and all kinds of unnecessary items will end up in a landfill, and a great deal of this garbage then makes it to the oceans. In fact, around 80% of the plastics in the ocean originated from the land.

This means that it requires effort on the part of modern consumers to reduce the amount of plastic debris they create in order to help save the oceans. How is this done? Simple: reduce the amount of plastic you use. The most common pieces pulled from along the shores include water bottles, shopping bags, and plastic utensils. None of these items are necessary in the least and the sooner someone ceases using them the sooner they will stop appearing in the ocean.
