Do It This Weekend: Sensory Overload, filmfests, bike and racecar action (and more)

It's an unusually jam-packed weekend. Hold onto your helmets for racing action on both two and four wheels and both sides of the bay, plus movies, movies and more movies (and some other stuff, too.)

The sixth annual Sensory Overload takes over the new kids' museum. Creative Loafing’s annual bash indulges all five senses and allows grown-ups without children to check out the nifty interactive exhibits at the Glazer Children's Museum (adults unaccompanied by kids cannot be admitted during regular operation hours). At the event, you can see Shane Hoffman's contain it! installation from Dunedin Fine Art Center, the winners of CL's "Show us Your Neighborhood" Photo Contest, video by Mike Bowen, an edible installation by Mise En Place (and Cap'n Crunch Mountain, we hear!), Moving Current's "Water’s Journey" with shadow dancing and aerial ballet, and performances by Jobsite Theater. Local bands Sunshine Factory, Infinite Groove Orchestra and Lighthouse Music (pictured) play throughout the night. Sat., March 26, 8 p.m.-midnight; 18 and up only admitted; $10 in advance, $15 at the door; 110 W. Gasparilla Plaza, downtown Tampa; 813-739-4800.
