S'mores-inspired Girl Scout cookie will appear in 2017

It's S'mores Day, and the Girl Scouts just announced their new campfire-style cookie.

A campfire classic that Girl Scouts have enjoyed for generations will be added to the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida (GSWCF)'s cookie lineup in 2017.

And what better day for Girl Scouts of the USA to announce their crunchy, creamy S'mores cookie than National S'mores Day?

According to a news release, the practice of building and eating s'mores was popularized by Girl Scouts, one of the first organizations to publish the beloved recipe under the "Some More" name, as early as the 1920s. Their new s'mores-style graham cracker sandwich cookie is filled with none other than chocolate and marshmallow.

To snag a box, make a preorder with a scout in your neighborhood from Jan. 6 through 22 (boxes get delivered starting Feb. 13). Or head to a booth between Feb. 17 and March 12 in one of GSWCF's eight counties, including Pasco, Hillsborough and Pinellas.
