Drawing the right wing with a left wing brush

One of Tampa Bay’s finest wielders of ink and brush is taking on the Republican establishment. Since January, sublime cartoons of right wing personalities by artist Roger Palmer (winner of 2007 Best of the Bay “Best in Drawing”), thinly veiled as fictional characters, have been attracting a growing audience to his blog, Feral Ink.

Figures including Mitt Romney (dubbed “Mittle Me” by Palmer), Paul Ryan (“Pullet Hawk”) and Rush Limbaugh (“Rash Limbach”) populate the blog. Alongside ferociously primitive portraits of them, Palmer posts satirical texts describing their misadventures, dabbling freely in sexual and scatological humor to poke fun at politics.
