Mitch Perry Report 2.27.12 - Post Oscar edition

Good morning, America. Hope you're happy about "The Artist" taking all the major Oscars last night. And Meryl Streep, too. You are happy about that, yes?

Okay, let's try to regroup. There are just two weeks left before Florida Legislature calls it a session, so there's plenty of mischief possible. One bill pending would cut in half the already modest $4.65 an hour that servers at restaurants make - to $2.13.

Rick Santorum can't seem to stop saying everything that comes into his mind, such as that he wanted to "throw up" upon hearing JFK's speech about the separation of church and state. He's also now calling President Obama "a snob" for the president's temerity to call on young people to aspire to graduate from college (link coming).

And Christian Wade, for the last few years one of the best reporters with the Tampa Tribune, has left the Tribune to work for Newsday in New York (link coming).
