A breakdown of concert highlights for this Thurs., Feb. 18.

Gary Clark Jr. Gary Clark Jr.’s been dutifully carrying the blues from the depths of dad-rock to a whole new generation since the debut of his first album, Black and Blue, in 2012. With a frenetic approach to fretwork and a worn vocal style that sounds far older than his 32 years, Clark’s earned a legion of fans through countless festival appearances and elbow-rubbing performances with the likes of everyone from Jeff Beck to Beyonce. His second studio album, The Story of Sonny Boy Slim, dropped in September 11. This is his first performance of 2016 following a string of dates opening for the Foo Fighters. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg) –Andrew Silverstein

Melissa Etheridge Solo The raspy-voiced rock songstress stops in town for an intimate solo performance as she continues to tour behind 2014’s This Is M.E., its cover made up of fan photos pieced together into a mosaic of Ms. Etheridge howling into a mic. Amid relating stories about her three-decade journey in music and sharing the inspiration behind some of her songs, she’ll cull heavily from her 13th studio LP and touch on the expected charters, too (“Come to My Window,” “Like the Way I Do,” “I Want To Come Over,” et. al). (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater)–Leilani Polk
