As a way to break away from the Temple Terrace TacoSon, the St. Pete location is rebranding with the name Grumpy Gringo.
"Customers come in thinking both locations serve the same offerings, so we wanted to establish a difference by rebranding," says Grumpy Gringo employee Kelsea Gibson.
As for choosing the name Grumpy Gringo, it was just a matter of standing out and rebranding, reassures Gibson.
5/14/19 1:24p.m. UPDATE: After speaking directly with management, Julie Stosh, at Grumpy Gringo, it has been confirmed that Grumpy Gringo is not a TacoSon entity, but a new establishment entirely.
The taco joint has also made some updates including adding healthy menu options and a refurbished dining area.
Wax & Hive creative studio is currently working on a mural and installation within the dining room to help shed the taqueria of the TacoSon name. All renovations are scheduled to wrap up prior to Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
Hours will remain the same, Monday through Saturday 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
More details and photos to come as the restaurant finishes updates.
