Watch out Taco Dirty, there’s a new joint in town.

Local food truck favorite, Xtreme Tacos has officially launched a brick-and-mortar in South Tampa, at 223 S. Howard Ave., directly across the street from that slightly less gentrified Taco Dirty concept. It's actually starting to feel like a taco turf war in SoHo, which has at least seven other notable Tex-Mex restaurants within a half-mile radius of the new Xtreme Tacos.

The SoHo location — which is the former home of another taco place, Urban Cantina — is currently in the soft opening phase and allowing guests to dine-in or pick up one of Xtreme's newborn-sized burritos or fully-loaded tacos served up on homemade corn tortillas. Guests of the fast-casual restaurant can also snag bowls, quesadillas, tostadas, sopes, taquitos and nachos (all with vegetarian substitutes).

By the way, we’re still patiently waiting on Xtreme's Seminole Heights location to open, which according to a Times article, will happen after owners get the SoHo restaurant running smoothly.

"We just want people to not worry about growth. Seminole Heights is going to be our main location, and we know that everything will be just as good in any location that we have,” owner Sofie Warrenbrand told the newspaper, adding that the brand is currently focusing on quality and consistency before its next location can debut.

So for now, SoHo locals can catch a buzz at the bevy of nearby bars, then head to Xtreme to soak it all up. The rest of us will have to visit or find the Xtreme Tacos truck at one of its many stops. We're feeling good about not having to ear that damn burrito in our car anymore.

Hours for the SoHo concept are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, closed Monday.
