Now, this is good.
Friends of Strays has recently launched a program called “Doggy Day Out” which gives its shelter dogs a chance to get out of their cages and out with volunteers.
Beginning May 31, locals can head over to Friends of Strays to take a pup out on a field trip to not only help reduce kennel stress but also provide Friends of Strays’ dogs with enrichment and increased visibility.
These outings will give staff at the shelter valuable insight on how the dogs behave in new environments, which ultimately could be the key in placing dogs in homes that are a fit for life.
Just in time for summer adventures, these animals can be your plus-one for trips to the beach, the park or even to binge watch the latest series.
A couch is much better than a kennel.
Volunteers may even find themselves a fit, or introduce the animal to those who are looking to adopt.
To sign up for the program, go to the Friends of Strays Animal Shelter, located at t 2911 47th Ave. N. in St. Pete to fill out a short questionnaire. Visit Friends of Strays for more information.
Your summer just got better.
