In 2012, India Summer was named the MILF/Cougar of the year at the XRCO, XBIZ, and the AVN awards. To me this is a bit disturbing as she is only a few years older than me, and to my knowledge, neither of us has kids. She must posses other qualities that made the critics overlook her youth and her lack of children before bestowing her with this honor. Or maybe she just slept with more people than the other nominees, which is probably one of the main criteria for winning such an award.
Summer grew up in possibly the most American of American towns, Des Moines, Iowa, with one of the most American of American lineages: a perfect mix of Irish, German, English, and Native American. She ran track and cross country in high school and worked as a lifeguard. After earning her bachelor's degree in education, she started swinging with her husband. This eventually led to shooting amateur sex scenes, which led to the question, "Why not do this for a living?" Summer shot her first professional porn scene in December of 2005 and jumped into the industry full-time in September of 2006. In July 2009, she signed an exclusive girl/girl contract with Girlfriends Films, and in 2011 she directed her first film for the same studio. Summer has appeared in more than 300 hardcore films throughout her career, and she has landed roles in mainstream television shows like Sons of Anarchy and Dexter. I caught up with Summer at the 2013 AVNs.
