Chris Hardwick, the babyfaced comedian, TV personality, Wired magazine contributor, head honcho of the multi-platform Nerdist Industries and co-host of the interview podcast of the same name, will be stopping off from his Funcomfortable Tour to appear at the Straz Center's Ferguson Hall Saturday, Aug. 8, at 8 p.m. If you can't make it on that date, Hardwick will also be appearing at the Hard Rock Live the night before in Orlando on Aug. 7.
In addition to touring, Hardwick hosts AMC’s live after-show Talking Dead, which hashes out the amblings of The Walking Dead, and the amusing Comedy Central comedians-in-Twittersphere game show @Midnight.
A glance at his resume, and you'll notice that the 43-year-old Hardwick has profited from his Peter Pan syndrome. The performer, writer and businessman has made a living from escapist fun. His Nerdist.com website, a premium YouTube channel (youtube.com/nerdist), has more than 900,000 subscribers, 2.3 million Twitter fans and a podcast network including the Nerdist Podcast. Nerdist also produces content for television including All Star Celebrity Bowling for AMC and In the Name of Science for National Geographic Channel.
Several of his dates have sold out, so act fast. Hardwick was one of the top headliners at Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival last summer, fetching some of the heartiest laughs of the night.
Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, April 3, and are available online beginning at 10 a.m., and by phone and in person at the Straz Center Ticket Sales office beginning at noon.
