Having the Bay Area Renaissance Festival (which opens this weekend) in the backyard of MOSI makes for a sort of retro-future theme park complex. On one end, there’ s a hurricane wind tunnel and astronaut ice cream. On the other, gigantic smoked turkey legs and a human chess match.
For the six weekends it runs, however, the Ren Fest bashes MOSI’s science-fact edu-tainment with a blunt axe.
