Stop by the Chelsea for Oral Fixation's LGBTQ open mic series — the only one of its kind in the area — held the third Thursday of each month. Check out the talented local wordsmiths, singers, playwrights, ranters and ravers who get behind the mic.

Metro Wellness and Community Centers shows the documentary Corpus Christi tonight at its St. Pete location at 7:30 p.m. Though the date of the actual play, which retells Jesus' story as though he was a gay man, was postponed, this documentary will provide you with a behind-the-scenes look the production. The cost is $10 and all proceeds benefit Metro Wellness and MCC.

Sarasota Pride takes place this weekend, from 12 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at J.D. Hamel Park. This year's theme is "A Celebration of Family." Live music includes Karmic Tattoo, Waking Giants and a performance of The Rocky Horror Show.
