After his unsuccessful bid for Tampa mayor in 2011, the always interesting Turanchik had been hunkering down at the law firm of Akerman Senterfitt. Then he reintroduced himself on the public stage as the local face of a plan to bring ferry service from Hillsborough’s South County to MacDill Air Force Base, with the hope of ultimately taking it from Tampa to St. Petersburg. With most transportation discussions just leading to more discussions these days, perhaps somebody has finally found the trail to a more sustainable commute across the Bay.
