We’ve all seen it, and our computers have all suffered some sort of intrusion, vandalism, or theft. You may not be aware of it but I am willing to wager your debit card’s PIN on it. There is one more thing to be added to the list of open invites you have given the criminal element into your life; your phone. Yes, we’ve been through this before, your phone is a computer. Your phone is connected to the internet and therefore just a vulnerable as any other computer on any network. Your local PD has men on the job, and on February 28th they will be giving a talk at the Hangar Restaurant at 540 First St. SE, St. Petersburg. Moderated by WMNF 88.5’s Rob Lorei this panel will include St. Petersburg Police Dept.’s Cyber Crimes Detective Chris McClure, and cyber crime expert Stephen Pearson of the High Tech Crime Institute. Seating for this conversation begins at 5:30PM so be ready, and remember to bring pencil and paper because this stuff can save your rear end and your bottom line.
