has finally released an "official" app for the iPhone, months after a version of the service was available for those who jailbreak their phones. (Something Apple seriously frowns upon, by the way.) The official app has something the others don't, however: Free streaming of Netflix's library of movies right to your phone. Cool, eh? Sure, the iPad has done it for a month or so, but now it's on your phone!
The first thing I did was go to my instant queue and load Firefly, which played nearly instantly. There was no lag in video performance in 3G and it played straight through. The WiFi was even quicker, and provided almost no lag in browsing. The picture and sound are very good and surprisingly crisp.
