Comedian Tig Notaro headlines the Palladium tonight

She's spoken candidly about her double mastectomy and love of Taylor Dayne.

Comedy fans who enjoy more than a succession of hackneyed one-liners have come to count on Tig Notaro as a likable, low-key comedian with wit and a delightfully dry, non-gimmicky style of storytelling. The largely unknown but highly revered-in-her-industry comic will be headlining a No Clubs show next month at the Palladium.

A good many comedy fans weren't aware of Notaro until August 2012, when she detailed the events of her life at the time: the death of her mother, end of a relationship and a breast cancer diagnosis. Louis C.K. praised the set at Los Angeles' Largo as the best he'd seen in his life.

While everything seems to be in place for Notaro to take her status to the arena level, she says she still just enjoys more intimate, small-room settings, even performing on living room tours. See if she attempts to sing and awkwardly tell another Taylor Dayne story on Wednesday, May 27, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25, available at daddykool.com.
