Steve Harvey is a popular comedian, radio personality and television game show host.
Some people know him from his decades doing stand-up, and others just know him from Family Feud. Others recognize him as one of the Original "Kangs" of Comedy.
Somewhere along the way, Harvey went from up-and-comer to established vet to respected elder statesman in the entertainment world.
There's no questioning his success, but he'll provide answers regarding success when he visits The Mahaffey in October.
This isn't a comedy tour; it's a motivational speaking engagement, where he'll educate and inspire his audience with themes related to the tour's "Act Like A Success" moniker.
Not every comedian can pull off a serious discussion of success and goal-setting while making a real attempt to motivate the audience, but Harvey seems like the right guy for the job. He's likable, versatile and seems pretty focused and driven. Just know that this isn't a stand-up show.
Harvey will be joined by motivational speakers Lisa Nichols and Patrice Washington.
The Oct. 18 show starts at noon. Tickets will go on sale Aug. 1 and will cost $64.75-$199. Info: 727-893-7832 or themahaffey.com.
