Trippin' is an indie horror/comedy that pays tribute to the films of Troma Entertainment (Toxic Avenger, for example). Bad acting, a bad story and bad jokes are what Troma aspired to, and all three are present in this film. Despite the promise of weed, 'ludes and sex in a remote cabin, Trippin' instead gives us a bunch of people wandering around some dark woods for over an hour with nothing happening. This movie is the cinematic equivalent of a partner who just wants to masturbate while you watch and then goes to sleep. Deviant Pictures has been trying to get into the GIFF for years with no success. If this is the one that made it, I'm afraid to see the rejects.
Trippin' is screening Fri. March 19 at 10:30 p.m. at CinéBistro in Hyde Park.
