For the past seven years, the I Like It Hot! Festival has drawn a respectable crowd of sensory-thrill-seeking locals to Largo with its wide range of spicy goods — hot sauces, salsas, BBQ sauces, pepper jellies and more. Today's highlight is an Amateur Salsa Competition. Interested participants are encouraged to bring 16 ounces or more of homemade salsa to the fest, with sign-up from 11 a.m. to noon and the winner to be announced at 3 p.m. Sun., Sept. 16, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Minnreg Building, 6340 126th Ave. N., Largo, $3 adults (children 12 and younger enter for free).
