You know what’s actually scary as hell? Being a bicyclist in Tampa Bay. Critical Mass Tampa Bay is embracing the idea, however, and asking a horde of cyclists to join in on Friday for a large — and costumed — group ride that will weave its way through popular thoroughfares and all “the party districts of Tampa.” The point is to bring attention to cycling safety and also have fun, so there’ll be awards for best-dressed.
Helmets with lights and hi-visibility clothing are suggested while noisemakers — think horns, bells, vuvuzelas, kazoos and duck calls — are pretty much a give in, right? The ride rolls out at 8 p.m. sharp.
Fri. Oct. 25, Ride leaves at 8 p.m. Meet at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, 600 N. Ashley Dr., INFO.
