Tarpon Springs is set to host its inaugural International Film Festival next month.
Kicking off with an opening reception at the Tarpon Springs Heritage Museum Thursday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m., where attendees can meet some of the film writers and directors who will be featured in the festival.
Films will run Friday through Sunday, in three-hour blocks at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, with viewings of short and feature-length films; some of which will be followed by a Q+A panel discussion with writers and directors.
Attendees will be given score sheets to cast their votes for their favorite films.

Nobody Dies Here is a short documentary on an illegal gold mine in West Africa and has won over 40 awards at other film festivals.
Epiphany was filmed locally in Tarpon Springs and dubbed “their love letter to Tarpon Springs” by writers/directors Koula Kazista and Katina Sossiadis.
William’s Words is the only animated film in the festival and tells the story of young William Shakespeare finding the words for his future plays.
Dancing as One is a locally produced biopic revealing the vibrant culture of the Greek community of Tarpon Springs.
On Sunday, June 30 at 5:00 p.m. after the final showing, a brief awards ceremony will be held to announce the festival’s “fan-favorite” winners in both the short and feature-length categories.
Patrons can snag tickets for select time blocks or an All-Access Festival Pass for just $30, $20 for Tarpon Arts members, and $10 for students and children.
Individual block tickets are $8 general admission, $5 for Tarpon Arts members, and just $3 for students and children.
