Sh*t happened 5/25/16: Lightning lose, Tampa loses Super Bowl bid, Anonymous targets Rick Scott

Everybody sing it now:

So, ugh, yeah, some early mistakes, a called-back goal and, let's face it, some killer performances by members of the other team caused the Lightning to lose Game 6 to the Penguins 5-2 and force an all-or-nothing Game 7. Or, you know, the whole thing is rigged, an immaculately scripted ballet designed to wring every possible viewer's eyeball and marketing dollar out of a drawn-out playoff season that, by financial necessity, most continue until the last possible second. But probably the first thing.

In other sports news, Tampa was passed over in its bid to host a Super Bowl before 2021, with games being awarded to Atlanta, Miami and Los Angeles. Perhaps a contemporary and partially sane city transportation program might've helped. Cue some rich guys' assertion that this means more taxpayer money needs to be poured into a terrible, privately owned team's infrastructure in 3, 2...

In non-sports news that also incorporates a large degree of brutal physicality, 10 students were arrested when a brawl erupted at Tarpon Springs High School. Taco Tuesday has a dark side.

And finally, Guy Fawkes mask awareness campaign Anonymous released a video announcing that they're taking on Florida Governor Rick Scott for his inaction regarding the frankly horrific Lake Okeechobee polluted-runoff debacle. Oh, please let this be the one where they actually make something happen — we could all use the win.
